Michael L. Recny, 57, of Toledo, passed away in the arms of his children on Monday, December 29, 2008, in Flower Hospital. Michael was born in Fremont, Ohio on August 12, 1951, to Martin and Phyllis (Johnson) Recny. Mr. Recny worked for GM Powertrain for 31 years, before his retirement in 2001. He was a life long member of the YMCA and after retiring enjoyed working weekends at the West YMCA. He was a member of Local #14 of the UAW Mike was an avid outdoorsman and car enthusiast and in his spare time loved Yoga. Surviving are his father, Martin; sons, Steven and Brandon Recny; daughters, Melissa (Timothy Sr.) Recny-Enright, Ashley (James) Recny and Sara Recny; brothers, Marty and Mark (Viola) Recny; sisters, Robin (Leighton) Cornell, Amy Evans and Sue (Luke) Lawrence, and 8 very special grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Robert Recny. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Hessville Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Michael's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation: Friday, 2-9 p.m. Services: Saturday, 10:00 a.m.
