Michael Szavuly, 84, of Oregon, Ohio passed into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. He was born on September 16, 1930, in Budapest, Hungary. He came to the United States in 1956 as a refugee of the Hungarian Revolution. He married his wife of 51 years Carolina in 1963. Michael worked and retired from Farley Industries, the former Doehler Jarvis in 1992. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and volunteering at Our Lady of Toledo Shrine.
Michael is survived by his wife Carolina; son, Michael Szavuly; daughter, Katherine (Van) Beckner; grandson, Chase (Tessa Rice); sister, Irene, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Friends and family may visit at Eggleston-Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 2-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 30 at Epiphany of the Lord-Sacred Heart, 509 Oswald St. Toledo at 11:00 am, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am.
