Miguel V. Ramirez, 78, of East Toledo passed away peacefully on May 22, 2006. Miguel was born September 27, 1927 in Mexico D.F. to Ines Vicuna. There he studied engineering and graduated from El Instituto Politecnio Nacional. He later married his wife of 57 years, Genoveva, on April 19, 1949. Miguel journeyed to the U.S. in 1970. He worked as a tool and die maker before retiring in 1989. Miguel was a member of both St. Thomas Aquinas and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He also had a passion for the outdoors, spending most of his time fixing up his garden and yard.
Miguel is survived by his wife of 57 years, Genoveva Ramirez; brothers, Ramon and Raul; sister Ofelia,; children, Maria Teresa (Sergio), Miguel, Guadalupe (Jorge), Jose Manuel (Angela), Jose Luis (Kimberly), Antonio (Kimberly); 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; sister, Guadalupe Ramirez; granddaughter, Alejandra Paz-Ramirez; mother and father-in-law, Genoveva Solorio & Rodolfo Solorio and brother-in-law, Rodolfo Solorio.
Family and friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday from 29 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, May 29, 2006 at 10 a.m. and proceed to St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m. Interment will follow in Fort Meigs Cemetery.
