Mildred M. Hook, 90, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007, at Orchard Villa, Oregon, Ohio. She was born March 27, 1916 in Henry County, Ohio to Glen and Lily (Stevenson) Searfoss. Millie was married 49 years to Harold M. Hook, who preceded her in death in 1985. She was a homemaker for many years before her employment at the J.C. Penny Company on Main Street in East Toledo and for 23 years at Seaway Foodtown, Starr and Wheeling Streets until her retirement in 1978. Mildred was a long-time member of Faith United Methodist Church and enjoyed many hobbies. She especially enjoyed her family and many friends.
In addition to her loving husband and her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her infant twin daughters, Sharon and Shirley, son-in-law, Stanley Arquette, brothers, Ronald, Varryl and Woodrow Searfoss, sister, Marjorie Shoemaker and infant great-great granddaughter, Erika Arquette. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Marvin (Darlene) Hook and daughter, Sandra Arquette; sisters, Iris Shoemaker, Norma Dewar and Esther Leib; 8 grandchildren, Dennis Hook, Dawn Messina, Angela (Evan) McGee, Jamie (Jeff) Frye, Lisa Entress, Jacob Hook, Darrin (Sarah) Arquette, Kristin (Scott) Wamer, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road where funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. The family suggests contributions in Mildred's memory be made to the Cherry Street Ministries, Toledo, Ohio or Faith United Methodist Church, Oregon, OH. A special thank you is extended to all of Mildred's wonderful caretakers at Orchard Villa.
