Mildred L. Rost, 93, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 24, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Millie was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 15, 1924 to John and Ruby Hame. Millie met the love of her life Walter Rost and married March 21, 1942. Following their marriage, Millie and Walter relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana while he served in the military. When he was drafted overseas, Millie returned to Toledo, Ohio to live with Orville and Ruby Facer. A proud East Toledo resident, Millie worked as a manager at G. C. Murphy's on Main and Front Streets. Millie served as a tutor at East Side Central School for many years. She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church; singing in the choir, serving as treasurer of the women's group, and volunteered with Feed Your Neighbor. Her hobbies included: playing bunco, crocheting, knitting, and ceramics. Millie enjoyed many vacations over the years with her family who she loved dearly. Millie is survived by her children Lyn Loss and William Rost; daughter-in-law, Wanda Rost; 8 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Shepherd, Phyllis Cunningham, and Marilyn Facer; along with many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; son, Lewis Rost; son-in-law, Edward Loss; daughter-in-law, Izora Rost; grandson, William Rost; great-grandchildren, Meguire Smith, Ashton and Dakota Carper; along with her many siblings. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 SD. Coy Road on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00am in Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 601 Nevada Street, Toledo, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Martin Luther Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
