Obituary

Myrtle Ratliff, 90 of Walbridge and formerly of Northwood went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at The Manor at Perrysburg where she had been a resident for the past 2 years. Myrtle was born on April 18, 1913 in Stewart, Kentucky to Heen and Ella (Castle) Bowling. On July 30 1932 she married Clayton Ratliff. Myrtle had worked for St. Vincent Hospital for 13 years retiring in 1975. She was a faithful dedicated member of Athens Missionary Baptist Church. At age 58 Myrtle started to bowl, bowling at least three times a week becoming the Woman's Senior Champion in Toledo. Myrtle is survived by her loving children, Nella Jean (Thomas) Heinemann, Bobby R. Ratliff, James E. (Betty) Ratliff, Julia A. (Richard) Earls, Burma J. Sweeny, Glenda Gornall, Don R. Ratliff; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Alpha Ratliff and Mary D. Little; very dear niece, Jeanette Maynard. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Joyce Ratliff, son-in-law John Gornall, granddaughter, Hidi Ja Ratliff, great grandsons, Eugene Heinemann and Elijah Gore, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury on Monday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday in the Athens Missionary Baptist Church, 101 West Breckman St., Walbridge, at 11:00 a.m. where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Internment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Myrtle's memory are asked to consider Athens Missionary Church.
