Nancy James Angin, 84, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Nancy was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 30, 1936 to James and Maria (Gugushis) Angin, who preceded her in death. Nancy was a graduate of Woodward High School and attended the University of Toledo. Nancy's 32 year career with the city of Toledo started May 25, 1961. During this span Nancy held many of the "first" in her varied career. Starting as the secretary to the Mayors, Michael J. Damas, and then John. W. Potter. She was the first person to become secretary of Toledo City Council; the first person to become supervisor of the City of Toledo's Word Processing Center' the first person to carry the title of Administrative Assistant to Mayor Donna Owens and continued to serve under Mayor John McHugh until her retirement.
Nancy was a very dedicated member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral, singing in the church choir, a member of St. Anna's Ladies Guild, board member and treasurer. When Nancy was not at work or church, she enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Stanley Pentsos; Goddaughter, Maria Riveron. Also surviving are relatives in Canada, and Europe.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 738 Glenwood Road, Rossford, from 3:00 until 8:00 pm. with Trisagion service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the church on Wednesday, June 16 at 11:00 am where the where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Nancy's memory are asked to consider St. George Orthodox Cathedral OCA.
