Nancy L. Egert, 85, formerly of Elmore, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 23, 2017. Nancy was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 27, 1932 to George and Bessie (Cutcher) Zolman. Nancy was a graduate of Harris-Elmore High School and Bowling Green State University. On November 24, 1950, she married Clarence Egert. For 24 years, Nancy worked as a teacher and librarian with Genoa Area Local Schools and previously worked as a secretary at Libbey Owens Ford. Nancy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ohio Education Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and Delta Gamma Sorority. Clarence and Nancy were longtime members of the Toledo Craftsman Guild traveling to showcase Clarence's woodworking projects. Throughout their marriage, Nancy and Clarence traveled to Amish Country and extensively in the United States and Europe exploring the genealogy of their families. She enjoyed playing cards, playing the piano and organ, home improvement projects, and traveling to her grandchildren's activities.
Nancy is survived by her children, Dana (Becky) Egert, Dean (Debbie) Egert, Doug ( Sheila) Egert, David (Kay) Egert, and DeLee (Todd) Beadle; grandchildren, Ben, Brett, Brian, Beau, Brittany, Betsy, Alex, Jarrad, Keith, Tracy, Adam, Eric, and Amanda; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra (John) Harman and Janet ( Kenneth) Myers; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Kuhlman) Zolman; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; and brother, Richard Zolman.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:00 am in Trinity Lutheran Church, 412 Fremont Street, Elmore, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Harris – Elmore Public Library.
