Nancy A. Hauter, 86 of Oregon, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. Nancy was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 16, 1931 to George L. and Grace A. (Kratzman) Hauter. She was a Clay High School graduate. Nancy was a lifelong member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and she also sang with the Toledo Swiss Singers. She retired as a customer service representative from Toledo Edison after 30 years of employment.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Kathleen (Lawrence) Wilhelm, Michael (Cheryl) Hauter, Sharon (Timothy) Szymanski, James (Jennifer) Hauter; great nieces and nephews, Aaron, Emily (Adam), Rachel, Lily (Adam), David, Matt, Ryan, and Morgan. Also surviving are her three pet cats, which brought her joy and comfort. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, George and Bernice Hauter; nephew and Godson, Stephen.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday from 2-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Road, Oregon at 11:00 am and where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Nancy's memory are asked to consider St. Ignatius Catholic Church or the Toledo Humane Society. Nancy's family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all her special friends that have helped her through the years and to the staff and nurses at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, and the LaBuhn Center for the love and compassion shown to her during her illness.
