Nathan J. Fitzpatrick, 84, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 19, 1933 to Nathan E. and Cecelia E. (England) Fitzpatrick. Nathan was a merchant marine for 48 years sailing on over 100 Ocean and Lake Freighters. After sailing the Ocean for 24 years and then sailing the Great Lakes for 24 years, Nathan retired in 1998. Nathan was a member of VFW Post #2510 and enjoyed watching football, boxing, wrestling and going to the casino. Surviving are his daughters, Donna Fitzpatrick, Barbie Lov, Ann Hughes and Selena Owens; sister and caregiver, Shirley (Leroy) Madison; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; son, Jeffrey; step-son, Tony Napolski; brothers, Harland Fitzpatrick and Melvin Paige; sister, Delores Ruble and sister-in-law, Julia Fitzpatrick. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert &Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 P.M.
