Nella Jean Heinemann, 71, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, March 3, 2005, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. Jean was born in Stewart, KY, on June 15, 1933, to Clayton and Myrtle (Bowling) Ratliff. On June 11, 1954, she married Thomas Heinemann. Jean was an active member at the Athens Missionary Baptist Church. She also was a past member of the Walbridge Council. Jean had owned the Skillet Restaurant in Walbridge until 1993. In her spare time, she loved reading, traveling, cooking, and canning. Her true love was being at home with her family.
In addition to her loving husband, Tom. Jean is survived by her children, Robert (Linda) Heinemann, Pamela (Dennis) Furlong, William "Bill" Heinemann; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Bobby R., James E., and Don R. Ratliff; sisters, Julia Earls, Burma Sweeney, Glenda Gornall. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, and grandson, Eugene Heinemann.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd., Millbury, OH, on Sunday from 12 noon-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at Athens Missionary Baptist Church, 101 W. Beckman, Walbridge, OH, on Monday at 11 a.m. where additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Jean's memory are asked to consider Athens Missionary Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
