Norma J. Allen, 64, of east Toledo passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. Norma was born in Toledo on September 19, 1943, to Edward and Kathleen (Arter) Fletcher. She was employed over many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the former Parkview Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, Lutheran Home of Toledo, Manor Care Nursing Home, and most recently at Dr. Ahmed's office. Norma loved her job as a nurse and took great pride and joy with every patient. She was not only their nurse but became their friend. Although she loved her work, her real love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her loving children, Patricia (Josh) Deeks, Beth (Scott) Hoffman, Jennifer Allen, Amy (Philip) Stribrny, Timothy Allen, Liela Torres; grandchildren, Christopher, Corrina, Marcus, Brandon, Connor, Travis, Keisha, Sarah, Sydnee, Nathan, Jason, Jet; great-grandchildren, Tristin and Leaha; brother, Charles (Kathy) Fletcher; sisters, Judith Fletcher and Cathy Nordstrom. Also surviving are 2 special aunts, Dorothy Arter and Mary Gillespie; many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Allen; special friend, Ron Schwartz. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury on Sunday from 1:00-9:00 p.m. and where her funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
