Norma Jean Newell, passed away August 3, 2023 to join her parents, Doshie and Arch Hurst, husband, Gerald A., daughters, Jill Jeanette, Anna and Howard Newell in a better place.

She had an interesting and productive life, working 30 years at St. Charles Hospital, Ohio Bell, Sears and Ohio Employee Health Department. She later volunteered at Channel 11 "Call for Action" for 12 years.

Norma's past activities were St. John's Lutheran Church Choir, quilting guild, Swiss Singers, Valentine Theater, Bay Chapter Book Club, GAFS (group). Norma was veracious reader of the law and medicine. As a family they travelled and camped all over the USA, National Parks and Canada. A favorite was the ocean time at Cape Hatteras.

Surviving family are daughter, Jeri J. Newell Palmer (Cary) of Irmo, SC; her granddaughter, Mischa Marissa Newell (Palmer) now, Mischa Crain and husband, Tim Crain of Ocala, FL.

Graveside services will be held at Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, Ohio on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1:30 pm. with a luncheon to follow. No flowers please, memorial contributions to St. Louis Helping Hands; Toledo Humane Society, Toledo, Ohio.
