Obituary

Norman 'œFreddie' Dreier, 72, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Norm was born in Eaton Rapids, Michigan to Alden and Lillian (Dippman) Dreier. He was a 1956 graduate of Clay High School and attended both the University of Dayton and Toledo University. Norman was employed as a truck driver at Duff Trucking for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St.Ignatius Catholic Church, Teamster'™s Local 20 and Cooley Canal Yacht Club where he served as Treasurer. Freddie enjoyed boating, walking the mall and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Janice (Eberlin); sons, David, Tim, and Gary (Suzanne) Dreier; daughter-in-law, Diane Dreier; siblings, Joan (Bill) Romstadt, Mary Sue Ostafi, Tom (Gemma) Dreier, Theresa (Jim) Ballantyne, Martha (Russ Strausbaugh) Dreier, Regina (Sam) Reynolds and Annette (Carrie Maguson) Dreier; grandchildren, Megan, Douglas, Matthew and Heidi. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jeffrey. Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, February 21, from 2 to 8 p.m. Cooley Canal Services will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin with prayers in the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Norm'™s memory may be made to either Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the charity of the donor'™s choice.
