Obituary

Norman W. Schumaker, 94, of Bradenton, Florida, and formerly of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday, February 14, 2022. He was born December 16, 1927 in Oregon, Ohio to George and Mary (Becker) Schumaker. On August 7, 1948, he married Shirley Susor. Norm served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed with Pure Oil Toledo, Ohio for 20 yrs, the Stranahan Theatre in Toledo, Ohio and then became Superintendent of the Water Treatment Plant for the City of Oregon, Ohio, retiring in 1984. His memberships included: First St. John Lutheran Church, Toledo, Ohio, Oregon Volunteer Fire Department, Paragon Lodge #788and Toledo Swiss Society, Elks Lodge1511of Bradenton Florida, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo Zenobia Shrine Norm is survived by his children, Sandra (Gary) Perlinski, Dr. Jonathan (Beverly 'Buffy') Schumaker, Janis (Jeffrey) Gray; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Robert (Diane) Schumaker with children Austin and Alexis; Pam (David) Zimmerman with children Olivia and Amanda; Mark (Lindsay) Schumaker with children Cole, Brady and Brock; Jodi (Sam) Cuellar with child Nathan;Norman 'Charley'Schumaker with children Parker and Arianna; Robin (Chad) Hanson; Jonathon(Christine) Schumaker with children Graham and Max; Philip Schumaker; Heather (Steve) Regan with children Phoenix, Halle and Hudson; siblings Elaine Venable, and Marilyn Sawyer; and longtime beloved companion, Elaine Gladieux. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; sons, Norman Schumaker and Richard Schumaker; granddaughter, Andrea Schumaker; great-grandson, Ayden Haggard; and siblings, Clara Kreger, Alma Diefenthaler, Roland Schumaker, Herbert Schumaker, and Ethel Turnow. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 1:00 pm – 8:00pm Funeral service Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 2:30 pm at First St. John Lutheran Church 2471 Seaman Road, Toledo, Ohio where the family will greet friends at 1:30 pm.
