Norman R. Wamer Sr. 87, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 4, 1931 to George and Hazel (Quetschke) Wamer. Norman graduated from Waite High School and was then drafted into the United States Army where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. On August 28, 1954 he married the love of his life, Barbara (Buehler). He worked as a template maker at LOF for 32 years before retiring in 1985. Norman was an extraordinary wildlife artist and had a passion for wood working. He was a member of several art clubs, enjoyed hunting, fishing and caring for his flower and vegetable garden. What was most important to Norman was his faith and family, especially his wife Barbara, who was always by his side.
Norman is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; children, Anita Koczorowski, Sherry Wamer, Corey Wamer, Norman Wamer Jr.; grandchildren, Todd and Tasha Koczorowski, Sara Koralewski, Andrew (Michelle) Koralewski; brother, Gary (Beverly) Wamer, Curtis (Billie) Wamer; sister-in-law, Nancy Wamer. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Beatrice Fletcher, Marla Jobuck; and brother, Lawrence Wamer.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd., on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 1-7 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Norman's name may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
