Odilia R. Odilia R. Garcia-Linares, 86, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at Heartland of Oregon. She was born in Congregacion de Rodriguez, Coahuila, Mexico on April 13, 1922 to Melquiades Rodriguez Martinez and Santos Elizondo Costilla. She became a naturalized U.S. citzen in 1984. Odilia was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. In her spare time you would find Odilia attending to her many flower gardens or in her kitchen cooking traditional Mexican foods for her family. She was very talented at crocheting and embroidering. Her real love was spending time with her family especially providing care for many of her grandchildren. Surviving are her sons, Luis (Teresa) Linares, Daniel (Christine) Linares, Dr. Antonio (Martha) Linares, Pedro Garcia, Santos (Tina) Garcia; daughter, Josefina (Jose Trevino) Garcia; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Aurelia Menchaca and Guadalupe Martinez, both of Texas, Carlota Bustos and brother, Ramon Gonzalez, both of Mexico. Also surviving are many Godchildren. Odilia was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Francisco Garcia-Linares; brothers, Melquiades, Rogelio, Ramiro, Abel and Eliodoro; sisters, Rosa Elia and Herminia. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road. on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 1-9 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Thomas Aquinas Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
