Orville Milo Middleton, 89, of Oregon, Ohio passed away June 24, 2010 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Herrick, IL on February 2, 1921 to Orville and Florence Middleton. Orville served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He retired in 1997 from the Interstate Commerce Commission, where he was a signal and train control inspector. Prior to that, he was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad. Orville was a member of the American Legion and VFW. In his spare time, Orville enjoyed going to auctions, tinkering on cars and gardening.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Beverley J.; children, Claud (Karen) and Milo (Brenda) Middleton; grandchildren, Claud, Leslie, Marc, Matt, Shana, Aaron and Richard; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Cheridan; daughter-in-law, Louise Middleton. Orville was preceded in death by his parents; son, Barton; grandchild, Nina; brothers, Bruce and Carroll; sister, Valora.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Lake Township Cemetery.
