Orville J. Yant, 67, of Northwood, OH passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2005 in his home. He was born on August 26, 1937 to Orville L. and Bessie (Snyder) Yant in Millbury, OH. Orville was a veteran of the US Army and was employed by the CSX Railroad as an engineer for 31 years. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #240, Luckey, OH and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1610 in Port Clinton, OH. Orville enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gun collecting. Surviving are his daughters, Nancy (Mark) Murphy, Vickie Carpenter; son, Ronald Parrett; sister, Shari Thornton; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 niece, 1 nephew, and pal, Keegan. Orville was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Judy Yant and brother-in-law, Wayne Thornton. Funeral services were held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel on Thursday, July 7, 2005. Interment was in Lake Township Cemetery.
