Owen R. Stalnaker, 84, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. Owen was born in Spruce, W. Virginia on October 16, 1924, to Roland and Ida (Hamrick) Stalnaker. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Stalnaker worked on the lake freighters for over 40 years before his retirement in 1994. Surviving are his sons, Jeffrey, Gary (Mary) and Mark; sisters, Doris Jenkins and Janice Hamrick; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Joshua, Leanne, Chasity (Rubin) Pierce, Lindsay, Danton and Cameron; great-grandchild-ren, Troy and Jari. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie; son, Timothy; brothers, Leslie, Chester, Crawford and Ivan; sisters, Opal and Sylvia. Funeral services will be private and there will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home.
