Pamela J. DeGasto, 57, of Genoa Care Center and formerly of Perrysburg passed away February 27, 2012 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 14, 1954 to Mervin and Wilma (DePew) Cornell. Pam was employed as a Police Dispatcher for Perrysburg Township for 18 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Hope Community Church of the Nazarene. Pam loved her games, bunco, yahtzee and playing cards, even though she was a well known cheater, though she would deny. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. Everyone looked forward to Pam'™s pineapple drop cookies. Most of all the highlight of her life was her grandchildren and family. Surviving are her children, Jason (Laura) and Justin DeGasto; father, Mervin Cornell; grandchildren, Connor, Monica and GiGi; sisters, Dorothy (Raymond) Schwierking and Brenda (Jerry) Goeckerman; brother, Jim (Lori) Cornell; sister-in-law, Kathy Cornell; many nieces and nephews. Pam was preceded in death by her husband, John F. DeGasto Jr.; mother, Wilma Cornell, and nephew, Chad Goeckerman. Visitation will be at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. Pam'™s family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. in Hope Community Church of the Nazarene, 5650 Starr Ave. on Friday until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment following in Restlawn Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy in Pam'™s memory can be made to the charity of the donor'™s choice.
