Pat Smothers, 87, formerly of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Pat was born in Walbridge, Ohio on August 30, 1928 to Samuel and Antonette DeFalco. On May 5, 1951, she married Donald Smothers. Pat enjoyed life as a homemaker and in later years worked at the Sears in the Woodville Mall. She was a longtime member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, was active with the Wood County Senior Center, and was a 60 year member of the Lake Township Firebelles. Her hobbies included playing tennis, line dancing, and wintering in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida with her husband.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Sheri Henning; daughters-in-law, Connie (Mike) Campbell, Janine Smothers; grandchildren, Dana (Nate) Tomcik, Mark (Christa) Smothers, Adam Smothers, Greg Henning, David Smothers, Curtis Henning, Ben (Courtney) Henning, and Michelle (Jacob) Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Gianna Tomcik, Lucia Tomcik, Hayden Smothers, Luke Smothers, Aubrey Smothers, Lillian Hamilton and Vincent Henning; along with seven siblings, many loving family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sons, Vince and Larry Smothers; twin daughters, Vickie and Valerie Smothers; and son-in-law, Rick Henning.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Monday, May 30, 2016 from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 9:15 am with prayers in the funeral home and proceed to St. Jerome Catholic Church 300 Warner Street, Walbridge for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
