Patricia Jeanne Buenting, 87, of Perrysburg, Ohio, went to her Heavenly home peacefully on November 30, 2018, at Otterbein of Perrysburg. Patricia was born in Toledo, Ohio, on April 15, 1931, to Warden Pierce Pope and Freda Kathryn Madeline (Henzler) Pope. She was later married to Rev. Harold Walter Buenting on June 12, 1954, at Salem ALC in Toledo, Ohio, until his death on November 29, 2012. A lifelong advocate of the Toledo area, Patricia was a graduate of Woodward High School and The University of Toledo, where she received her Bachelor Degree in Education, minoring in Art, and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She was proud of her hometown and was very enthusiastic about the recent downtown revitalization, due to her many fond memories of the bustling Toledo of the past. Always teaching others in all areas of life, Patricia was by profession an elementary school teacher in the Toledo Public School System for 30 years before retiring in 1995. She was active in church activities throughout her life, as her faith and attendance at church were an integral part of her existence. Patricia also had a passion for the arts and enjoyed frequenting the theater, both reminiscing about the shows of the past at the Paramount Theater in downtown Toledo or attending productions of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the arts in her free time, working with her pastels, paints, or pencils. First and foremost, however, Patricia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family was Patricia's most important life's work. Her family will fondly remember the way she prepared for holidays, family birthdays, and special occasions. She loved the times when "everyone was there." Patricia is survived by her children, David Buenting, Barbara (Dr. Jack, II) Siebenaler, and Kathy Boyer; grandchildren, Jonathon (Chelsae) Siebenaler, Patrick Boyer, Joshua Siebenaler, Christian (Katie) Siebenaler, Andrew Buenting, Samuel Buenting and Anna Buenting; great-granchild, Judah Siebenaler. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband. Honoring Patricia's request, there will be no viewing. There will be a Celebration of Patricia's Life on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave, Perrysburg, Ohio, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Guests will be received at Zoar by Patricia's family one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Patricia's memory are asked to consider Zoar Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
