Patricia L. Koester Garey, 57, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her family at her side in her residence on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. Patti was born on July 13, 1949, in Toledo, Ohio to Orville and RoseEmma (Goodwin) James. She was a graduate of Clay High School. Patti enjoyed camping, Mackinac Island, cookouts, decorating cakes. Her real love was spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren. Pattie was also proud that she and along with other students wrote the Eisenhower Middle Schools fight song.
Surviving are her loving husband, Steve; children, Coleen (Scott Filipiak) Brillhart, Mike (Tanya) Koester, Cheryl Koester; grandchildren, Justin, Shelby, Robert, Thomas, Taylor, Jordan, Kaylee, Tyler, Carisa; sisters, Roberta (Lester) Fulkert, Rosalie (Tom) Koedam, Orleen (Greg) Rice; Goddaughter, Ashlyn Takacs. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and RoseEmma James; brother, Robert and son-in-law, Thomas Brillhart.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday from 12-8 p.m. and where her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Patti's memory are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the donor's choice. Patti's family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to nurses, doctors, staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio and a special thanks to nurses, Pat Bowlick and Kathy Pangalos for the love and care provided to her during her illness.
