Patricia Ann (Toth) Laurell, 81, of Oregon, Ohio, died on Saturday, November 3 at her home. She was born at St. Vincent's Hospital on May 5, 1937 to Joseph and Rose (Nagy) Toth. Her brother, Joseph (Sharon) Toth, survives.
Pat attended Clay High School and later graduated from Stautzenberger Business College, completing her studies there while raising her three children as a single parent. She worked in the offices of Commercial Electric on Summit Street, which later became owned by General Electric where Pat worked as an office administrator for over 30 years. After her retirement, Pat was able to devote her time to following all of the athletics, adventures, and other achievements of her three grandchildren. She also traveled to Michigan, Chicago, Wisconsin, California, and Las Vegas, but never made it to Colonial Williamsburg, which she always spoke of as her dream vacation. She enjoyed books and crossword puzzles, spending the week between her birthday and Mother's Day in Jonesville with her daughter, laughing with her oldest son until she was red in the face, making pigs and Hungarian cookies with her youngest son and daughter-in-law, watching any sport or play or musical event her grandkids were in, and though she grumbled about it, she also enjoyed feeding her family: hamburger Fridays, tailgate Saturdays, Sunday dinners, summer cookouts, and holiday feasts that included so many Hungarian foods and traditions. She had just begun to enjoy her great-grandchildren whose smiles always brightened her days.
Pat loved her family more than anything and never spared a dime or a minute of her time making sure they had every opportunity she could afford to give them. Her legacy lives on through her children: Pam Laurell, David Laurell, and Mike (Vicki) Laurell; her grandchildren: Adam (Danielle) Laurell, Andrew (Alison) Laurell, and Erin (Matt) Hagedorn; and her great-grandchildren – who knew her as Nagym Nagym: Elsie and Fintan Hagedorn; Grant, Abigail and Isabelle Laurell; and Maclin Laurell. She is also survived by nephews: Joseph Toth, Jacob Toth, and Jason (Janell) Toth, and several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be forever missed and forever held in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
