Obituary

Patsy R. Novotny, 95, of Oregon, Ohio, a loving wife to Frank for over 60 years, devoted mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 4, 1931, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Toth) Koschalk. Patsy graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1949 and shortly after married the love of her life, Frank Novotny who preceded her in death. She was a devout catholic, lifelong member of Epiphany of the Lord Parish- St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, and their oldest parishoner. Patsy was unselfish, always providing for her family with whatever was needed. She made sure to attend all of her grandchildren's different events throughout the years. Patsy and her late husband enjoyed spending summers at Sand Beach and winters in Seabring, Florida. Together they also enjoyed being with their group of 8 friends, traveling, playing cards and spending time with each other. She enjoyed cheering on the Michigan Wolverines and spending time watching golf, but what she cherished most was her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Mike Hochradel), Jeff Novotny; grandchildren, Kaylah (Kyle Ellis) Menchaca, Cameron (Madison Sample) Menchaca; and Jacqueline Novotny. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; and siblings, Rudy Koschalk and Ellie Miller.

The family will greet friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio 43616 on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with scripture services at 7:00 p.m. The family will also greet friends at, Epiphany of the Lord Parish-St. Thomas Aquinas from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the 6 caregivers for the compassionate care they provided to their mother and who are now after 2 1/2 years have become extended family. They would also like to thank Hospice of NWO, especially Elizabeth for being their mom's shining star. Also, the family is gracious for the AOOA for their guidance and education over the last couple years. Expressions of sympathy in Patsy's name may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Epiphany of the Lord Parish - St. Thomas Aquinas.
