Patti A. Nelson of Toledo, OH passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011 in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. Patti was born in Toledo and raised by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hendy. During World War II she served as a Red Cross nurse. She was a proud 56 year member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death in 2007, by the love of her life, Ernie Nelson after 62 years of marriage. She and Ernie began their marriage living in east Toledo before moving to Oregon where they lived on Fleitz Drive for 30 years. Together they owned and operated Aero Exterminator for 52 years. For over 30 years she and Ernie enjoyed their social work with the Zenobia Shrine where Ernie served as Past President of the Stewards from 1989 to 1990. Patti was also a member of Dendarah Court where she served as High Priestess from 1989 to 1990. Patti and Ernie'™s family were the most important part of their lives. Patti is survived by her children; daughters, Patty (Gene) Naujock and Elona (Will) Orlet; twin sons, Ernest John and John Ernest Nelson, 14 Grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and Sharon Anderson (Buffalo, NY) who was like a daughter to her. Patti wanted to express her appreciation to Pastor Larry Michaels for his many visits to her during her illness and a special thank you to her care givers in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. Her family would also like to express their gratitude to the Lutheran Home at Toledo and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the exceptional care given. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday February 25, 2011 from 2-9 pm with Dendarah Court services @ 7 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 am in St. Mark Lutheran Church 611 Woodville Rd. Toledo, Ohio with entombment following at Toledo Memorial Park.
