Paul W. Buehler, 82, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. He was born on March 27, 1920 to Otto and Helen (Stollberg)Buehler in Toledo, Ohio. Paul graduated from Devilbiss High School in 1938, attended Tri-State University and the University of Toledo. He served in the US Army during World War II in 6 battles and 2 major campaigns as a second lieutenant in the Signal Corps. Paul was co-founder of Otto C. Buehler & Son, Inc. where he owned and operated the firm for 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was an amateur radio operator W85MN since 1938. James was a member of Eastminster United Presbyterian Church where he served
as an Elder, Deacon and Trustee. Paul also was a member of the Lotus Lodge #625, Port Lawrence Chapter #176 R.A.M., Vistula Council #108 R & S. M., Eu-Tah Commandery #66 K.T., 32 degree Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite- Valley of Toledo and #477 O.E.S.
Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis (Dubbs); sons, John Buehler of Wagoner,OK, Peter Buehler (Tammy Szymanski) of Toledo, OH, William Buehler of Toledo, OH; daughters, Elaine (John) Crammond of Portage, WI, Jean (Joseph) Papp of Whitehouse,OH; grandchildren, Ian, Eric and Elizabeth Crammond, and Bradley and Michelle Papp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Naomi Buehler and grandson, Joey Papp.
Visitation will be held in the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, February 6, 2003 from 2 to 9 pm, where funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Eastminster Presbyterian Church or the donors choice. The Buehler family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the Lutheran Home at Toledo for their loving care.
