Paul E. Everhardt, 95, of Northwood, Ohio passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Perrysburg, Ohio on February 24, 1927 to Cleo and Gladys (Skidmore) Everhardt. Paul enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during WWII. Shortly after his service he married the love of his life, Gert (Power) on November 17, 1951. He later worked for Treu House of Munch before retiring in 1989. Paul is the last surviving member of the Ross Township Fire Department which was founded in 1952. He continued serving as District Fire Chief on the Northwood Fire Department for 16 ½ years from 1962-1978. He was a Charter member of Northwood VFW 2984, and was also a life member of Paragon Masonic Lodge. Paul was a lifelong mechanic, learning the trade as a young man following in his father's footsteps being able to fix anything. He enjoyed spending time fishing, wintering on Lido Beach in Sarasota, Florida but most importantly spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Gert; children, Paula (Dick) Sattler, Tim (Grace) Everhardt; grandchildren, Ryan Sattler, Kelly (Eric) Agoston, Tim (Carly) Everhardt, Katie (Mike) Floyd; great-grandchildren, Parker and Landon Agoston, Lucy Everhardt; siblings, Evelyn Morelock, Linda Bristow and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Fred "Fritz", Clarabelle, Helen and Jerry.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Road Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with Masonic Lodge Services at 6:00 p.m. followed by Last Alarm Services. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions be directed to Northwood Fire Department or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
