Paul C. Koenig, 67, of Walbridge, OH passed away January 19, 2004 in the comfort of his home. He was born on July 18, 1936 to Charles and Wilma (Kaltenbach) Koenig in Toledo, OH. Paul was a veteran of the US Army. He was employed with the US Postal Service in Toledo for 25 yrs., retiring in 1992 and the Lucas County
Senior Nutrition Center delivering meals. Paul was head coach for the McKinley Hornets Peewee Baseball
Team for 20 years, leading his team to several city league titles in addition to regional titles and a state championship, earning a trip to the Little League World Series. With Paul, coaching was more rewarding than
winning. He was the current head commissioner for the West Toledo Lightweight Football League, in which
he became involved in 1978. Paul also was an avid Ohio State fan. Go Bucks!!!
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Judy; sons, Brian, Brad (Mindie) and Charles (Shawn); sister, Nelda (Duane)
Fournier; grandchildren, Jordan, McKenna, Blair, Savannah and CJ and several nieces and nephews. Paul was
preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Thursday, January 22, 2004 from 3-8 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that contributions be made to the Lucas County Senior Nutrition Center or the West Toledo Lightweight Football League.
