Paul D. Prodan, 69, of Oregon lost his courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 10, 2006. Paul was born in Lexington, KY on February 24, 1937 to Dan and Bertie (Brinegar) Prodan. Mr. Prodan served as a firefighter for the City of Toledo for 21 years before his retirement in 1989. Paul served as Sergeant of Arms and Vice President for Firefighter's Local #92 and was also a member of Carpenter's Local #1138. Mr. Prodan was a 25 year member of both the Zenobia Shrine and Paragon (Port Lawrence) Masonic Lodge. He served as both Democratic ward chairman and precinct committee member in the City of Oregon, and was past president and board member of the East Toledo Family Center. He loved to fish, play cards, gamble and spend time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Agnes Aggie daughter, Sherrie (Ken) Brown; sons, Paul R. and Sam Prodan; brothers, John, Larry (Sue) , Ed (Wanda) and Jim (Sharon) Prodan; sisters, Pat (Al) Huegel and Mary (John) Stahl; grandchildren, Kelley, Tony, Madison, Heather; great grandchildren, Haley and Jocelyn. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bertie Mae and brother, Grant Prodan
Friends and family may visit at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Monday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Contributions in Paul's memory can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family would like to give a special thanks to Robin, Cynthia and all the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care.
