Paul E. Rupert, 88 formerly of Millbury, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born in Lima, Ohio on April 28, 1929 to Raymond and Elizabeth ( Bogart) Rupert. He was a graduate of Lima Central High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Paul worked for Standard Oil of Ohio and retired from BP Refinery in 1986. He was woodworker, fisherman, camper and loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Paul was a member of Northwood VFW Post #2984. Paul will be remembered as a devoted Christian who enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife Glema; children, Joyce (Rudy) Santibanez, Raymond (Betty Sue) Rupert, and John Strohscher; grandchildren, Ashley Santibanez, Rudy (Jessica) Santibanez Jr., Michelle Santibanez, Shawn ( Ronnie) Broadway, Robin ( Jimmy) Rucker, Jordan (Rachel) Rupert, Joshua ( Kaitlin Wagner) Rupert, Allison Strohscher and Zach Strohscher; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Paula) Rupert; sister, Patricia (Paul) Hochstetler; forever buckeye friend Tony Vascik; along with many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Evelyn Tierney and Marilyn Rupert; dog, Snoopy; and grand dog, Sarge. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service and military honors at 4:00 pm.
