Paul S. Vas, 85, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at Bay Park Community Hospital. Paul was born on May 29, 1918 to Paul and Mary (Torda) Vas. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Mr.Vas was employed as an Iron Worker for 50 years working out of Local #55. He was a member of St. Ignatius Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9816. Surviving are his son, Daniel (Mary) Vas; daughter, Elaine (David) Sampson; grandchildren, John(Mary) and Matt Sampson, Danielle (Andrew) Popp, Nicholas Vas and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet and brothers, Bill and George Vas. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday from 9 to 10:30 am. Graveside funeral services will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery beginning at 11:00 am.
