Pauline Pawelczak, 94, of Genoa, Ohio, and formerly of East Toledo, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Pauline was born on Friday, April 13, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Anna (Bialecki) Walczak. On October 17, 1942, she married the love of her life Stanley Pawelczak and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. For many years, Pauline worked in the cafeteria at Waite High School. Pauline was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was past president of the Altar Rosary Society. Pauline was also active with the Catholic Youth Organization and enjoyed bingo. She enjoyed crocheting and received a ribbon for her American Flag afghan at the Lucas County Fair. Pauline enjoyed cooking and baking for family birthdays. She was known for her chocolate "spider" cake which her great grandson now bakes for family gatherings.
Pauline is survived by her children, John ( Diane) Pawelczak and Suzanne (George) Stuller; grandchildren, Sheri (Timothy) Huntenman, James (Kathy) Pawelczak, Michael Pawelczak, G.J. (Annette) Stuller, Dawn (Brian) Bryant, Jeff Stuller, Todd (Vivian) Stuller; 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Esther Sincerbox. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Funeral services will begin Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 9:15 am with prayers in the funeral home and proceed to Epiphany of the Lord Parish – Sacred Heart Church, 509 Oswald Street, Toledo for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Helping Hands of St. Louis, Genoa Food Panty, or a charity of the donor's choice.
