Pearl L. Holland, 86, of Northwood, Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Arbors of Oregon. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 28, 1921 to Russell and Mary (Stadler) Hiatt. Pearl was a graduate of Libbey High School. She was the widow of, Richard Holland, her husband of 45 years, who preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Holland served as a volunteer at Riverside Hospital. She was a long time member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church and later would attend both St. Jerome and St. Thomas Churches. Mrs. Holland enjoyed camping at the Toonerville campgrounds. She also loved traveling, craft work and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her daughters, Judith Holland, Karen (Paul) Summers, Loni (Philip) Bambino; sons, Richard (Kathy), Russell "Bud" (Chris), Edward (Marsha) and Robert (Chris) Holland; sisters, JoAnn (Roger) Marckel, Alice Gooch; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James and Russell Hiatt, sisters, Helen Saxton and Mary Lou Seay; son-in-law, Tom Moore; granddaughter, Amanda Holland.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday from 2-9 p.m. Scripture services will be Friday at 7:30 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church where visitation will be from 9:00 am until the beginning of Mass. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy in Pearls memory may be made to Heartland Hospice, St. Thomas Aquinas Church or the Memorial Fund at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Arbors of Oregon for their loving care and support during Pearls stay.
