Peggy S. Benton, 75, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family, and Arbor at Oregon's nursing staff on Wednesday, December15,2021. She was born Cincinnati, Ohio on January 23, 1946 to Rev. Stanley T. and Flora V. (Huff) Benton. She graduated from Whitmer High School in 1964 as Valedictorian, and she received her Bachelors of Science in Education from the University of Toledo, where she graduated Magna Cum Lada. Peggy taught the 3rd grade for the Toledo Public Schools, and she enjoyed teaching young children. She had a talent with helping young people to see the positive in the world, and she always had a great sense of humor. She loved to travel around the world, and She had many stories to share. Later in her life, Peggy worked for National Family Opinion, corporation, and she worked as a substitute teacher for several school districts. She was a strong Christian, and she led Bible studies at her nursing home. Peggy prayed with friends, or staff; even when she was bedridden with illness, there was always more work to be done. She was a true prayer warrior, and she had her proof that her prayers were answered. It was a joy to be in her presence. She was a strong leader for the Toledo Hope Wesleyan Church. Peggy was very artistic, and She would make all types of woven items. She would make hats, mittens, dolls, and Barbie clothing. She would donate many of these beautiful items to others. She was always thinking of others before herself. Everyone enjoyed loved receiving her care packages. Peggy is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Aring, and Lucinda (Richard) Schwenker. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Mary Jo Vaillant. In accordance with the family wishes, the service will remain private.
