Peggy M. Sparks, 89, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday March 25, 2017 at her home. Peggy was born in Helen, West Virginia on August 20, 1927 to Doc L. and Goldie (Lester) Cook. On August 15, 1952, she married the love of her life, Richard H. Sparks Sr. Peggy was a longtime member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. For 12 years, she worked at Meng's Music Store on Adams Street in Toledo and retired from Toledo Public Schools in 1991. Peggy enjoyed many hobbies, spending time with the retiree groups from Toledo Public Schools and Sun Oil Refinery and volunteered at charity functions with Transplant Recipient International and Life Connection of Ohio. Peggy is survived by her children, Judith Ann (J. Michael) Honsberger, John Joseph Sparks, and Ruth Ellen Nicholas; grandchildren, Sarah Thompson, Emily (Eric) Spiker, Claire Crawford, Harrison, Madelyn, Joseph (Dulce),, Logan, Daniel, Elaina, Max, and Ellie Nicholas, Nicholous McClusky; great grandchildren, Abigail and Molly Spiker and Abigail Nicholas; sister, Faith Joyce Daniels; sister-in-law, Ruth Utter; brother-in-law, James Sparks; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Sr.; son, Richard Jr.; and brothers, Joseph, Jamel, and Emmett Cook. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 601 Nevada Street from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am.
