Penny J. Day
Penny J. Day, 61, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Penny was born on January 27, 1954 to Paul and Hazel (Shrewsbury) Day. For many years, Penny was employed with the former Parkview Hospital as an RN Administrator and most currently as Director of Nursing with Whitehouse Country Manor in Whitehouse, Ohio. Penny was an avid fan of NASCAR, with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (Car #88) her favorite driver. She was fortunate enough to attend the NASCAR races in Las Vegas for 8 years. Some of her favorite vacation spots were traveling to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN. Penny loved anything to do with M&M's collectibles or the candy. She was the only buckeye in a family of siblings who were all born in the South. Penny enjoyed OSU football and Tiger baseball. She was a member of the Rossford Eagles and a lifetime member of the Northwood VFW. Her true love and enjoyment were her many nieces and nephews.
Penny is survived by siblings, Geneva I.(Willard Jr.) Long, David L. Day, Robert A. (Mary) Day, Sarah V. Grimes, Danny J. (Deborah) Day, Jerry G. (Louise) Day; 32 nieces and nephews and 44 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Joseph F. Day, Paul M. Day, Jr., James R. Day, Shirley A. Shank and Linda P. Lairson; brother-in-law, Keith L. Grimes.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. where Rossford Eagles Service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
