Peter Charles Allore continued his love for travel and went home on Thursday, December 11, 2008. Pete was born on December 2, 1921, in Coblenz, Germany to Michael C. and Anna (Dwogacke). He married Martha L. Cates on January 2, 1943. He worked for Toledo Edison 41 years as a mechanic, the last as a foreman, retiring in 1983. Pete continued the love he and his father had for model railroading and had a train layout for many years. He and Martha traveled across the United States several times in their travel trailer. He could fix almost any car and built many things including dollhouses for his wife and daughter. He was an adventurer and he and his son would go motorcycling on Larry's Harley. Pete is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha; son, Larry (Diana), Millbury, OH; daughter, Linda (Ron) Gilley, Millbury, OH; grandson, Eric Gilley, Tampa, FL; granddaughters, Jennifer Gilley, Sharon, PA and Holly Jameson, Corpus Christi, TX. Also, a great-grandson, Kirk Bums, and his four-legged great-grandchildren, Emma, George, and Lucy. He is also survived by his sister, Edna Cates (Russell), Davison, MI and one niece and nephew. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, OH, on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 2-5 p.m. Private interment will take place in Lake Township Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone who had any part in Pete's care at Perrysburg Care and Rehabilitation and ask that their Memorial Garden Fund be the recipient of any memorial contributions given in his memory.
