Peter Farkas, 82, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Albany, Louisiana on September 13, 1925, to Bertalan and Barbara Farkas. Peter was employed as a furnace tender at Libbey Glass for 40 years. In his spare time Peter enjoyed bowling, and fishing. He was a member of Calvin United Church of Christ. Surviving is his sister, Julia "Judy" Balogh; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Dorothy Farkas; 4 nieces; 3 nephews; dear friend, Beatrice Hyslop. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Paul; sisters, Lola Farkas, Elizabeth Barta, and Pearl Visi. There will be no visitation and private graveside services will be held at North Oregon Cemetery.
