Phillip Waggoner went to join his Dad yesterday, July 21, 2007, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Darrell and Phyllis (Bigley) received their early Christmas present on December 24, 1955, and Christmas remained Phil's favorite holiday throughout his 51 years. Phil leaves behind to lovingly cherish his memories his wife of 32 years, Sue (Driftmyer); his children, Amy (Kirk) Yates and Kim Ford; his grandchildren, Amanda and Dominique Yates, Leanne Williams and Allysen and Adam (Bubba) Ford; his siblings, Judi (Steve) Floro, Raymond (Sharon), Sharon (Colleen) Lewis, David (Judy), D. Michel (Lisa) and Laura (Melvin) Hart; "special daughters, Robin (Rob) Kothe and Roberta (Bob) Sheets; "special sister-in-law", Diane Waggoner; 15 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews. Phil was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and when not rooting on his favorite Detroit teams spent the majority of his free time coaching first his daughter's softball teams, then his younger sister's and his niece's and finally, with his son-in-law coached his granddaughter's "Sizzler" softball team, which he established for 7th-8th grade girls. He also stepped in when needed to coach Amanda's basketball and broomball teams and to referee Dominique's basketball games. As a youth, he was involved in many sports and continued to play softball for many years, first with his brother, David and then with St. Johns' team. He also coached Genoa Little Comets Football team with his brother, Dave for 2 years. Phil touched the lives of many adolescents and their families through his coaching and was respected by all. The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Toledo for their compassionate care and understanding with 30+ people in their facility at all hours. When we leave I say goodbye. We are used to seeing each other often, now we won't. So after our last goodbye I will cry and God will say hello. Up in heaven you will go. This I know. Me, I will long for the day I can too say hello to you & God. It is then I will be truly happy. Love, Dominique
