Phyllis A. Gilbert, 81, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born in Redkey, Indiana, on June 15, 1933 to Gola and Loree (Bird) Whaley. She was a 1952 graduate of Woodward High School and on October 19, 1957, married Carl Gilbert. She worked as a real estate agent with Martin Realtors, Knuth Realtors, and later worked as a tax preparer for H & R Block. Her true passion was spending time with and caring for family and friends. Phyllis is survived by her children, Mark (Beth) Gilbert, Karen Ramsey, Jane Gilbert, Dawn (Tim) Jordan, and Debi James; grandchildren, Ryan (Melissa) Ramsey, Eric Ramsey, Tyler (Leah) Gilbert, Megan (Steven) Hollabaugh, and Darryl Ellis; great-grandchildren, Andy, Jacob, Marya, Lucas, and Collins; brother, Kenneth (Carole) Whaley; sister-in-law, Wanda Kujawa; along with many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; brother, Lee Whaley; and grandson, Joseph Gilbert. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 2:00 pm '" 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home.
