Phyllis R. Sampsell, 89, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. Phyllis was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 14, 1928 to Elmer and Mary Roberts. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and went on to become a registered nurse. Phyllis married her husband Robert Sampsell on April 11, 1953 and he preceded her in death. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tending to her flower garden as well as attending various craft shows, but what she enjoyed most was her family and grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by her children, Mike (Suzette) Sampsell, Marsha (Stan) Swartz, David (Joan) Sampsell, Jeff (Debbie) Sampsell, Scott (Lynne) Sampsell; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. with prayer services to begin at 6:00 pm. Services will begin with prayers in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 10:15 and will proceed to St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner St., Walbridge, OH 43465 for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Phyllis's memory are asked to consider St. Jerome Catholic Church.
