Raleigh S. Evans, 88, of Graytown, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2009, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Raleigh was born in Charleston, West Virginia on March 8, 1921. He was a US Army veteran of World War II where he served in the battle of the bulge. Mr. Evans was employed as both a mechanic and truck driver for Omni Source (Kripke Tuschman Industries) for over 20 years before his retirement in 1988. Surviving are his sons, James F. (Tina) and Robert (Mary) Evans; daughter, Frances (Bo Schoenrock) Pitzen; sister, Dollie Burroughs; grandchildren, Craig, Piper and Jonathan; great-grandchild, Kelsey and Susan Nutter who was like a daughter to him. There will be no visitation and services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury. Memorial contributions in Raleigh's memory may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
