Obituary

Ralph R. Kesling 90, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at his home. Ralph was born June 25, 1928, to Darrell and Margaret (Keyser) Kesling. In 1946, Ralph graduated from Lake High School and married his high school sweetheart, Rhoda P. Leimann in 1949 who was the light of his life. They recently celebrated 69 years of marriage with visits and cards from their children, Mike (Heidi) Kesling, Joy Kesling Roecker, Melody (John) Hassen, Larry (Leigh) Kesling and Ralph Jr. (Rhonda) Kesling; grandchildren, Candace (Tim) Hopkins, Holly (Stacy) Crowder, Bobbi (Glenn) McQuown, Sean (Stacy) Fedrick, Heather (Chris) Marsh, Hilary (Aaron) Roggelin, Emily (Jake) Miller, Nicole Kesling, Allie (Charles) Kirkland, Drew Kesling (Michael), Maggie Kesling (Kegan), Cooper Kesling, Olivia Kesling, Hannah Kesling (Ryan), Haley Kesling (Shane), Halayna Kesling; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Adelaide Hopkins, Reese and Merritt Crowder, Adrian and Aubrey Pusey, Olivia and Evan Marsh, Derek, Avery, and Owen Roggelin, Max, Gina and Charles Miller and Kennedy Kesling; brothers William (Phyllis) Kesling, Charles (Norma) Kesling; sisters-in-law Nancy Kesling and Carol Hanely; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Ralph took great pride in sharing his love of family, working hard, traveling throughout the United States, playing cards and taking up the sport of golf after losing his right leg in a rototiller accident. Ralph retired from the City of Oregon Water Treatment Plant in 1991 after 25 years of service. He was a devoted Detroit Tigers Fan, Ohio State Buckeyes Fan, and lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Darrell and Robert; sisters, Dorothy and Mary; father-in-law Ted and beloved mother-in-law Emily; brothers-in-law, Ed Issacson, Duane Hanely and George Leimann; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Leimann; and infant granddaughter Shelby Kesling. Private graveside services will be held at Lake Township Cemetery. Ralph's family would like to give a special thank you to his great niece and caregiver Paige Davies and hospice caregivers, Elizabeth Ackerman (RN), Lee Ann Henry (SW); and Ralph's "Body Washers", Sarah, Shelly, Maegan "Harley", Desiree, and Lisa. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551 or St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Road, Toledo, OH 43605 or a charity of the donor's choice. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
