On December 18, 2008, Ray Arnold Boos passed away at his home with his family by his side. He was born on March 3, 1939 to parents, Adolph and Lucille who preceded him in death. Ray was a graduate of Clay High school where he was a member of the National Honorary Society. He was an avid ball player, bowler and pilot. Ray worked as a fireman for the city of Toledo and a bricklayer for AA Boos prior to his accident on September 6, 1966 which left him as a quadriplegic. Despite his handicap he was an inspiration to all that knew him. He was a member of Paragon Lodge #788, Vistula Council #108, EU-TAH Commandery #66, Lotus Chapter #44, and Zenobia Shrine.
Left to cherish the memories are his wife of 50 years, Thelma; daughters, Beth Ann Wesley, Pamela Kay (Tommie) Taylor; son, Douglas Ray (Cari) Boos; brothers, Donald (Dolores) and Robert; grandchildren, Courtney, Shane, Dustin, Billy, and Anja; many nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by parents and brother, Milton.
Services and burial will be private and there will be no visitation. Memorial contributions in Rays memory may be made to the Zenobia Shrine Transportation Fund, P.O. Box 437, Toledo, Ohio 43697 or the charity of the donors choice.
