Obituary

Raylene K. Draeger, 78, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on February 16, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 4, 1935 to Alfred and Catherine (Seymour) Lee. Raylene worked at the former Joseph'™s Grocery and became the manager of Foodtown'™s Deli Department for many years. She was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She also was a member of the Woodward High School class of 1952 reunion committee. The class celebrated their 60th reunion this past summer at Brandywine Country Club. While in high school, Raylene was a member of the band and a majorette. She was a close friend of Jamie Farr who also graduated in 1952. Upon hearing of her 60th wedding anniversary and declining health, Jamie called her on February 8th and reminisced about walking home from school and watching TV at her parent'™s home. She was also a former 'œTeen Town' Queen. Raylene met the love of her life, Richard, a 1949 graduate of Macomber High School, in 1952 and they married in February 1953. They celebrated their 60th anniversary with a catered luncheon at First St. John Lutheran Church on February 9th attended by family and friends. It was a beautiful affair and enjoyed by all. Raylene and Richard built their first home in Northwood, OH and then moved to Oregon, OH while still raising their children. After they retired, Raylene and Richard enjoyed their beautiful winter home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. They also traveled the country from north to south and east to west with close friends and high school classmates, Ray and Barb Berger. She is survived by her husband, Richard C.; sons, Richard L. (Cynthia) of Indianapolis, IN and Gary A. of Rochester Hills, MI; daughters, Susan C. Draeger of Oregon, OH and Sandra J. Cousino of Oregon, OH; grandchildren, Brent (Shannon) Draeger, Brittany Draeger of Helmetta, NJ, Amanda Cousino and Robert Cousino; great grandchildren, Kathleen Law, Nathan and Andrew Draeger and faithful canine companion, Kristi. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack 'œA.J.'. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd. (east of I-280) , on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at First St. John Lutheran Church 2471 Seaman St., Toledo, OH with interment to follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Raylene'™s memory are asked to consider First St. John Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
