Raymond A. Nichols, Sr., 68, passed away on April 26, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 22, 1947 to Lawrence and Helen (Kania) Nichols. Ray was a devout catholic and a life member at Good Shepherd Parish where he served for several years as an usher. After the closing of Good Shepherd, Ray faithfully served the lord at Epiphany of the Lord – St. Thomas Aquinas Church. He was a member of River East Mother Theresa Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree. Ray loved hunting, fishing and doing charitable work.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary; sons, Matthew (Tina) Nichols, Lance (Sarah) Nichols; brother, Larry (Kay) Nichols; sister, Joanne Hurak, Lillian Bosch; and 9 granchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Raymond Jr.; brothers, Denny and David.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with rosary services at 3:30 p.m. and Knights of Columbus services at 6:00. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday at Epiphany of the Lord Parish – St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 729 White St., Toledo at 1:00 p.m. and where the family will greet friends beginning at Noon. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Ray's name are asked to consider Epiphany of the Lord Parish.
