Raymond L. Olinger, 84, of Northwood, Ohio passed away in his residence on Saturday, January 29, 2005. Ray was born in Toledo on July 25, 1920 to William and Linda Olinger. Ray had retired from Gulf Oil Refinery in 1980 where he had worked for 31 years as a stationery engineer. He was an Army Veteran serving in the 749th Artillery Division spending two years in Iceland and 2 years in Europe during WW II. Ray was a member of Unity Methodist Church, Northwood VFW Post 2984 and the Lotus Lodge #625. In addition to his wife of 64 years, Lucille, Ray is also survived by sons, Ross (Gretchen), Chris (Lisa), Jeff (Patty); grandchildren, Ray, Katie, Mandy, Kelly, Brooke, Dana, Olivia, Jonathan; 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul and Don Olinger and great-grandchild, Christian. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Monday from 2-9 pm with VFW services held at 7 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Ray's memory are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or charity of the donor's choice.
