Raymond L. Paben, 80, of Northwood, OH passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007, in the Genoa Care Center. Raymond was born in Toledo on February 12, 1927, to Clarence and E. Marie (Johnson) Paben. Mr. Paben was a U.S. army veteran, serving in World War II. He was employed for 35 years at Champion Spark Plug working as an employment supervisor at the Upton Street plant before his retirement in 1981. Mr. Paben was one of the founders and an original member of the Northwood Volunteer Fire Station #2. Surviving are his daughters, Diane (Terence) Roberts, Sandra (Jeffery) Vogelpohl; sister, Lois (Emery) Harsanje; grandchildren, Terence Roberts, Lawrence Roberts, Kelly Vogelpohl, Kari Cruthers, Kristy Elder; great- grandchildren, Lindsay and Logan Roberts, Jaiden Scott Cruthers; sister-in-law, Alice (Jack) Kesling and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorotha; son, Raymond Paben Jr. and special friend, Ruth Cuber. Visitation will be held in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road. on Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions in Raymond's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Disease Foundation.
